85 broke hood latch cable

Here's the deal, I was in the process of fixing a cable and the hood gets slammed. How do you open the hood without a cable, and without dynomite.

Can you get at the latch by removing the grill?

You should be able to get to the cable or latch by removing the grill.

cant remove the grill with the hood closed. you may be able to get your hand up in there and hit the latch. if not remove the bottom bolts and then try to get it up in there from the bottom of the grill. hope it works for ya

When my hood cable broke. I stuck a coat hanger with a small hook. And pulled on the latch lever. I think towards the driver's side. And it popped open. After that I replaced the entire cable.
my cable broke and I had to use a battery tiedown from a honda to open it. I took the battery tiedown, bent it a little, stuck it in through the grille, pulled it towards the driver side on the hood popped open. I was pushing down on it when I did this.

I found these post also some other guy had to break part of his grill to be it open.
