Exclamation S-10 engine shuts down when hot or a load on...

hello,
I have a 2000 S-10 with some weird problems. It has happened three times in the last month. I am stuck in stop and go traffic and the engine will start to spit and sputter and then quit. Then it won't start until it cools down for about an hour. The second time it happened i got a check engine light and said it was the up stream o2 sensor low voltage, so i replaced it 2 weeks ago. Now I am cruising down the turnpike an hour an a half into a trip with a 900 lb. popup on the back and it does it again. Let it sit for and hour and half. Started it up and got off the turn pike, drove to my grandparents house 4 mile away and it acted up again left it sit for 3 hours and then drove it home without the popup for 1/2 hour with no problems. No trouble code on computer.
Someone had said it could be the coil getting hot and miss firing.
Any help resolving this issue would be a huge help...

Certainly it COULD be the coil overheating but it COULD be alot of other things also (pickup in dist), or thing pickup plugs into, among others. First check to see if you have spark when problem occurs. If you do problem lies elsewhere. You can buy a can of freeze spray at radio shack and then pick one of the suspect items and spray it when problem occurs, if problem seems to be resolved try this trick again when problem occurs again. If it works again replace suspect part.

If all this goes for naught, (no joy) I suggest Tracy Martin's "How to diagnose and repair automobile electrical systems" It will show you how to test each individual component without even removing it. It has saved my *** more than once, it is relatively cheap (under $20) and available on Amazon.com: Online Shopping for Electronics, Apparel, Computers, Books, DVDs & more, actually since reading it I haven't had an electrical problem I could not solve. It is one of the very few books I have read several times. Good luck, and let us know what you find.

Thanks for the info on the freeze spray... I will have to just drive it until it happens again.
