Dual Batteries? Wheels?

I have 2 questions..I just purchased a 1988 Chevy C 2500..
It appears to have an extra battery tray..was this a factory option in 88
if so how do I wire it up? Anyone have a schematic for an 88 2500?
The truck has 16" ugly steel rims..Will Tahoe aluminum rims fit OK?
There is a guy selling a set locally for 100 bucks and they would look much better than what I have
Thanks
I guess thats 3 questions but who is counting?...

Smile

my wheels are 6 lug on 5.5 center..the Tahoe wheels are also 6 lug x 5.5 center..so I believe they should fit..just thought someone might know for sure before I buy them..hate to pay for them and then find they will not work

It would have been a printed sticker in the glovebox. Did you look to see if someone may have taped up the ends and then taped them to something else to eliminate the battery? I had an 88 it also had wires taped up along the frame for a slide in camper, which worked off the second battery. I was wired thru an isolator but I cant' remember were it was.
