| Manual door lock question Hi again, i just purchased a manual door lock kit for my 86 C-20 cause i lost my key and it came with no instructions. Can someone tell me if it makes any difference which side the cylinders go on....or are they designated right and left...i see no markings on the lock cylinders. |

| Pretty good question. I have come to the realization that even the simple ones can make someone scratch thier head. I believe that the do have a direction and an orientation. I recall that he lock itself has the lever on one side of the cylinder, and to make the key fit without being upside down, it will have a direction. Again this is just from memory, but the lever faces to the rear of the truck. So, if you insert the key into the tumbler mechanism, you should easilly be able to identify the left and right side locks. Good luck. Are there not any locks in there now to use as a reference? |
