I would stick with AC Delco plugs. Also I am a big Royal purple fan. Although I run dino in my truck as it has 173k on it and only has ever run dino. I heard somewhere that you should just stick to what the truck runs on especially with some miles on it. But on the other hand I run Royal in my other cars and it lasts a long time.

I like the fact they are all SS and having nothing in them to wear out.

Still wondering about a good, reasonable cost mirror solution.

I did have a vin-lock Superchip programmer but sold it when I got the F350. I may get another as it seemed to help.

a dumb question..... When I started up my Ford, I just turned the key and it fired right up. WIth the Chevy, it seems to work better to depress the gas pedal an inch or so momentarily before turning the key. Is this normal?

And what spark plugs work best for this truck?

Thanks!
Either way going synthetic is a good thing, i run castrol sythetics in my truck, know lots of people running amsoil, don`t know anybody with royal purple, doesn`t mean its not good, i recommend getting a custom ECM tune its the way to go, way more power and effeiciency, your truck should fire up right away, maybe clean mass air flow and throttle body, as for plugs ac delco are fine, as for mirrors, i know a company that makes big towing mirrors for the classic trucks, give me a bit and i`ll try to fined em... again

Bestop extendable mirrors, seen them for 150 or so. fit 88-98 classic trucks

Thanks, that should do the trick. I'll have to check on the tuning, never had it done, but I'm sure there's at least one place that can do it around LA!!!!

do NOT use carb cleaner on the MAF sensor. cleaning the intake and TB up does help. try not to spray cleaner directly into the sensors mounted on the TB. they make a special cleaner for the MAF and have even heard of people using brake parts cleaner. anything that does not leave an oily residue. but i would check on that first before doing it.

Well, it has 8 lug wheels. So I guess either this fellow ordered a ton of options, or they didn't badge HD's in '98.

Thanks, got the Royal Purple in today, along with some Pennzoil synthetic gear oil in the diff. They wanted to do the trans, but the oil looks so clean and new, I'm waiting a bit. I stuck with stock oil(Ac-Delco) and air filter(Purolator paper) replacement. I also had them change the fuel filter. This truck has been well taken care of so I didin't really HAVE to do those things right away, but hey!

Do you happen to know where the washer pump is located. Mine doesn't work.. I would also like to unhook those daytime driving lights too!

Stump - I didn't notice you were from Canada until I saw colour! I'm from South Dakota way back........

I still have an issue with starting. It cranks well, but doesn't fire unless I tap the gas a touch before starting. Any ideas? I haven't changed the plugs yet, but it seems more gas related......
