Front Shock rattle 0n 05 Silverado

Hi folks -- I did a search and found nothing but here's my problem.

I have an 05 Silverado regular cab short bed V6 5spd with what sounds like a left front shock absorber rattle. I've inspected and found nothing out of the ordinary.

I'm told there may be a "fix" for this in the form of some sort of nre shock absorber bushing but the local dealers plead ignorance on the subject and seem as puzzled as I am about the noise.

Its getting worse and I'm worried that something may break.

It started at about 28K miles and the truck now has 29K on it and the noise is very noticeable and cam be "felt" through the steering column, especially when turning left or when pulling out of the driveway down the curbing.

Any ideas????

another thing that is common is the bushings that support the caliper pins for the brakes wear out too, see if you can moove your caliper up and down, should be pretty firm, i have also seen the upper control arm cam bolts come loose, more so on the 4x4s though, plus i`d aso check your swaybar links they can rattle too if worn....

The cruise control module can sound like two pot-pie tins stuck together with a marble inside and it's in that general area too. Give it a couple of slaps and see if the sound is familiar.

Well as far as the feeling it when you drive tho... This wouldn't be it at all.

intermediate steering shaft splines lack of lube. unhook by your feet, move in/out a few times, rehook and drive noise will be gone.

Its still under factory war, take it back, tell them to fix it and if they don't call customer service and open a complaint file.
