| Tranny issue 96 K1500 4l60e Leaving the store, I put the truck in drive and pulled out of my parking spot. Went about 25-50 ft. and all of the sudden it was like it went to neutral and after a few seconds it was back under power. It happened a few more times, so I stopped and checked the fluid level and it was fine. Decided to go to the parts store to have codes pulled and there weren't any. I drove home which is appox 15 miles and hasn't happened since. Does anyone have an idea of what might be going on? JR |

| Cavitiation could be the culprit. If air was introduced to the pump, it could cause this. Heavy foaming, and such is nothing more than air. Now how does this happen? A few ways, the pick up, or filter could have fallen off, and the pick-up is above the surface, and this particular time it picked up air. Second could be that the fluid is bad, and fatigued fluid has too many suspended solids, and even contaminated such that it is no longer effective, and is just plain foamy. Again this foam is air. Third, I guess, could be that the converter had drained fluid back into the pan, and it was close to being dry for a fe moments until the pump could fill it back up again. This could take a little time, and it could take a few moments. This will be interesting to see how it reacts after it sits for a while. Typically overnight may bring the symptoms back again. Yeah, as I type, I am leaning towards a stuck check ball, and allowing the converter to drain back into the pan. Just a guess, but it makes sense to me. |
