| Heater Core Newbie here from Texas. I done alot of reading, before I decided to register, cool site. Also there are some nice looking chevys on here. Now to my question. I have a 94 1500 ext cab Z71, The heater core sounded like a coffee pot brewing and it was leaking. So I replaced it, no leaking but still the ol coffee pot noise. Any input is greatly appreciated... |

| That sound is normal, especially when the motor is warming up. It is just the flowing coolant through it. I hear it in mine, more so in the winter, but often enough. May be an indication the coolant is low though. As long as it works, I would think you would be okay. However, if it is CONSTANTLY like that, even after a days worth of driving, then there may be a blockage still in there. Coolant can get dirty, and even getting a new core will not prevent it getting gumbed up with a decent flush. Welcome by the way. From all of us here, thanks for the compliment about the site. We try to all get along here....LOL... so do not be afraid to ask anything, even if you think we will think it is stupid... I know I don't......LOL

| Mine gets worse when I accelrate too, but like I said, it usually will only be that way in the mornings, or more so in the winter. If you get it ALL the time, then CF79 is probably closer in that there may be air in the lines, or the fluid may be low.
