4L60E Tranny Problem!!!

My 2000 Chevy 1500 4x4 tranny(4L60E) has been slipping in reverse for a while now and now is slipping in drive, the reason it started slipping is because had mechanic put in new drive plate and transfer case in truck and when that drive plate broke most of the tranny fluid leaked out so he put it all back together but forgot to top of tranny with more fluid(got me so pissed off), so i drove down the road not knowing that there wasnt fluid in it (thinkin that the mechanic would have put some in) tranny got hot and started to slip, so i put 2 quarts of the the lucas oil stop slip in it and put the rest tranny fluid into it , that fixed the foward from slipping but still slipped in reverse a little, a week later they both are slipping again, i am wondering if i should put more of that lucas oil into it or rebuild or buy new tranny any advice would be appreciated
