has this vehicle always had this problem?? oriface tube might have a slight clog which would build head pressure causing it to kick off and back on again after the pressure dropped again. might be a problem also with the temp sensor (thermostat) in the vehicle that is reading wacky cutting it on and off. doubt it is that but have seen weird things happen before.

Haven't noticed the compressor stopping but next time it does it I'll pull over and see if it stopped. No it just started doing it this summer. I'll check out the orface too. If it's the thermostat just gives me a reason to get the cooler one that I've been wanting to get. LOL.

bradrhale is talking about the thermostat(temp sensor) INSIDE the vehicle not the one on the engine!

maybe it just needed to run for awhile to get situated again. the oil ay just have needed to get moved arounded to lube everything up
