| how would you reach it? it's not like a car where you almost sitting on the floor board. it's annoying enough to reach for the t-case shifter once in awhile, couldn't imagine doing it every time i got in the truck. i guess you could rig it up like a manual shifter, but then you would need to fab up a locking mechanism to keep it from popping out of/into gear by accident.

| Mudseeker makes a very valid point, but to answer the question, it is a very simple install, and most performance aftermarket companies haver everything you need to acomplish this. They will come with the appropriate cable, and brackets to connect everything. Be sure you purchase a shifter that has 1 additional gate to accomodate the 4th gear. This will permit the full range of grears. Some three seed only shifters will not work, but most are now in compliance with4 speed autos. |

| I had a truck and used the B&M Quicksilver ratchet shifter and although I have long arms it was not a big reach for me and became second nature in no time. However, the Quicksilver at that time was for 3 speed autos and I am not even sure if they still produce it. The Quicksilver did have a bit taller stick than others like the Zgate. As above, it should be an easy install. They come with the brackets, back up light switch, park/nuertal switch and all. You will just have to figure out the wiring, and the instructions are likely to give you that info. Be sure to let us know what you found to use and how it looks and works out. |
