spark plug torque spec?? weird sound

anyone know the best torque setting to torque a spark pluge too , i have a 2003 chevy silverado 2500 series ... 4x4 , with a 6.0 ....also when i start the truck it makes a sound like you hear on a truck with air brakes , it only happens once ever 20 or so starts . and last for only a seccond . sounds like its coming from the power steering pump .. but im not sure , any help would be much appericated

Torque for spark plugs? For cast iron heads, 10mm plugs 15ft.lbs., 14mm. plugs 30ft.lbs., 18mm. plugs 40ft.lbs.. For aluminum heads, 10mm plugs 10ft.lbs., 14mm. plugs 25ft.lbs. and 18mm. plugs 35ft.lbs. That`s what I would use anyway.

i just tighten them until they bottom out, then give it another quarter to half turn depending on feel. may not be the "right" way but i never have a problem with plugs.
