AC Problem '92 Silverado with 350 engine. At times, after starting up, the AC will not work. The battery has to be disconnected for a few seconds. After reconnecting and restarting the AC will work fine. This does not happen all the time but it is getting to be a hassle. Thanks in advance for your help.

Which relay would that be and where would it be located? My concern is that my computer might be bad. Does anyone know if the computer has anything to do with the AC? Even though I am an electromechanical technician, automotive electrical systems baffle me. Thanks for the suggestion.

You didn't mention if it was a climate control system. If so you are probably low on freon and disconnecting the battery is resetting the system. I'd check your charge first.

The main problem here is that it's my brother's truck. I'll check with him to see about the climate control. It probably is. Does that mean that the computer has some control over the AC system?

Yes if disconnecting the battery resets it. Part of the body control system
