quadrajets are 4 barrels, besides you`d loose major power with a two-barrel, would suck to have a big truck that can`t pass a school bus...

what kinda carb you running? you could install smaller jets AND to go extreme you could undo the linkage on the secondairies! then it would almost act like a 2 barrel, it will loose lots of power though, but should save a few bucks from going in the tank that way, although sometimes its kinda unsafe to reduce power, may get you introuble if you try to pass or somthing and get stuck in the wrong lane!

have you calculated how much you're spending and how long it will take to get your money back? is it worth it to spend hundreds (thousands?) of dollars? what i've noticed with catbacks/ exhaust upgrades is that you're heavier on the throttle because it sounds so good. how about driving slower or the speed limit?

on a side note, here's my take on the mpg topic/ gas prices.....price for gas is going down. speculators have pushed the price up too much too fast that the topic is on everybodies dinner table in the evening. the push has gone as far as eliminating oil from everything. have you heard sen. barack hussien obama's speaches, lately?

electic vehicles are on the horizon, more hybrids, fuel cell, natural gas, ethanol, etc. while i think that this is possible, it is highly unlikely to eliminate oil burning engines....and this possibility has scared the oil industry....of what "could" happen. they need to find a "happy" price to keep the oil industry going for decades and not **** the majority of people off where alternate fuel options WILL be the solution. the current demand has dropped (even in the summer months) with simple motorist planning, moped buying, reduced speeds, etc. already. their profits will diminish in the long run if this keeps up. we know the supply is out there to last "forever." but, if the push is for alternate energies (see environmental extremists views), and they get their agenda pushed through congress, it won't matter.

sorry for the "hi-jack."

you can get a jet kit for that baby, around 50 bucks +/- and you can tune her down a bit and still have power, i think you can also adjust the linkage on the secondairies to come on later, it will help abit...

carb spacer will give you more toruque but you probly won`t notice much fuel economy from it, getting rid of the secondairies will probly save alot, BUT remember you gonna loose alot of power, try it out one night when you don`t have to "get" somewere, just bum around and try it out, i don`t think you`ll like it much...
