| I bought my 88 C2500 5.7L 700 r4 tranny in the beginning of June..I flew to where it was and drove it home with nothing in the bed ( about 300 miles) I drive very conservatively and it averaged 14.5 mpg Once home I changed all the fluids, inflated the tires to factory specs ( 45 front, 65 rear) gave it a full AC Delco tuneup, changed the O2 sensor, installed a stage 1 Jet performance computer, installed a throttle body and injector spacers.. I loaded it with about 600 lbs of tools and then drove it 1500 miles to my brothers house in upstate NY.. The truck averaged 17.5 to 19.5 mpg depending on my speed and the use of the A/C I cannot put my finger on any one improvement as most beneficial but all combined I was more than satisfied.. Bill |
