Hesitation/Surging

Hi,
I just bought a truck around 4 weeks ago, it is a 1990 c/1500 silverado with a 5.7 liter 350 small block. It has been running great up until last week. I slowed down off the highway going 60 mph and onto a street of 25 mph when I let go of the gas my started to surge like I was pushing on the gas. It has been doing this for the past 5 days now. It also has started to hesitate. sometimes when I go to pass someone it does not get the power it should. Here is what I have done to the truck so far.
New OEM Spark plugs
New Spark plug wires
New PCV Valve
New Oil
New Transmission fluid
New coolant
I was going to install a new fuel filter but the lines are very rusty on mine and I am afraid of breaking them. Anyways ideas are welcome. I have a few but before I go spending money I would rather spend money on the actual problem it's a great truck 100,000 miles on it.

Welcome to the forum
Go with the fuel filter and if need be replace the fuel lines..or splice if needed. If you use any rubber hose make sure its high pressure with smooth clamps not ring clamps

My truck had same symptoms.

Believe it or not, it was a loose gas cap.
