| I need Carb help I have an 81 k2500 3/4 ton with a 350, wide ratio 4 spd, 4wd, no air. It hasn't been used in about 5 yrs, new to me. The gas was obviously bad so I sucked the old gas out of the tank, changed from dual tanks to one, new fuel pump and attempted to rebuild the Qjet. There I'm stuck. The power valve won't go in dep enough to clear the gasket. There is a screw (jet?) with spring driectly ahead of the power valve that doesn't show on any parts diagram I've seen. Does the metal pin on the front of the power valve go under the shoulder of this screw? is there any correlation between the pin on the powervalve and this screw? Should I just replace the Qjet with a Holley or other carb? There are no "Carb" specialists in this part of the country that I know of. Not within 60 or 150 miles anyway. Truck has app.118K and will only be used as a ranch fire truck. Any ideas about low tork manifold and carb combo would be appreciated if I can't get the Q jet to work. |

| Thanks Heavychev! That has much better pics than either book or the distruction sheet with the rebuild kit! Whish I'd had it before I changed the power piston limiter screw. Still not sure if power piston goes in before of after gasket but ddn't take time to read far enough. I'm sure it will help. On the other hand, I had me wife talked into an new manifold and carb so I could get the truck out of her way. I'll try again on the rebuild before I order speed parts. |
