92 chevy c1500 brakes

hey guys.. my nieghbor is having a problem out of his truck whenver he starts it up it rough idles but when he push on brake it idles better and also while brakeing it sounds like air is leaking just a loud sound and he said that he isn't leaking brake fluid or anytrhing

Inspect the largest vacuum line in the engine bay, the one from the manifold to the brake power booster. Disconnect it from the power booster and plug it off. If idle is better then the power booster or check valve is leaking. If the idle is the same, disconnect the hose from the manifold and plug off the hole in the manifold.

If you wind up replacing the power booster, be sure to take careful notice of any shims, spacers, or washers and reinstall them in the same configureation.
