steering

Well ive got some more problems, surprise surprise. About a week ago i was driving and went to make a u-turn and hit a big rut with my front passenger tires. I got through it fine but when I got out i noticed that my steering wheel has to be turned to the left about 15 degrees in order to keep the truck moving straight. I got out of the truck and took a look at my front suspension parts and nothing looked broken or loose. Is there any posibilty that this could be fixed with an alignment? If not what could it be?

I took off too fast once in a snow storm in my pickup and hit a curb with the wheel turned and I had the same problem. I had to replace the upper ball joint on that side, but after which and some serious persuasion on the front suspension and the allignment fixed it. I would bring it to Sears since they offer a FREE allignment check, and they will let you know if there is anything that needs replaced or not and then go from there. Tis what I did.

Yep I think everyone does it at one time or another. Take it to a good reliable alignment shop, plan on spending $100.00 or a bit more and learn from your lesson!

well i took it to tires plus and told them the problem and they did an alignment and everything was fixed. from the alignment print out it shows that the steering wheel was well out of the recommended setting.

thanks guys

same here, one price... UNLESS it is German.... They slammed me for 119 for my BMW JUST BECAUSE it was a BMW.... they also wanted 145 per axle for beake replacement... so I did it myself, and when I started working on it myself, I found it was the EASIEST car in the world to work on!!! not complicated at all... I think they just assume becasue I had a high end german car that I had $$$ which was of course, NO WHERE near the truth.... LOL
