vacuum prob

i need help with brakes. the other day this just started happening and i cant figure it out. i hit the brakes and they are real stiff and make like a hissing noise, and the truck idle will go down real bad and almost stall out. this only happens when i hit the brakes. when it is sitting idle it runs fine and it drives fine. i hit the brakes at a dead stop and it bogs down real bad and sometimes even stalls. im pretty sure its a vacuum prob i checked the rubber hose going to the booster and it looked ok and it was getting suction. i replaced the master cylinder and bleeded the brakes really good and it still didnt fix the problem. would a bad brake booster cause this to happen. any thoughts will help thanks.

To check the vacuum booster, pump the brake pedal with the engine off until you've bled off all the vacuum from the unit. Then hold the pedal down and start the engine. You should feel the pedal depress slightly as engine vacuum enters the booster and pulls on the diaphragm. No change? Then check the vacuum hose connection and engine vacuum. If the hose is alright, the problem is in the booster and the booster needs to be replaced.
Pretty simple little test.
Did the booster take on any brake fluid by any chance?
Often times the master can leak fluid into the booster, and the fluid will ruin the diaghram. I think the guys are correct, and you have a bad booster.

Make sure the filter on the booster vaccum hose isn't clogged.
