| proper coolent levels and PH of said coolent will prevent all of this. I would watch your heat exchange radiator for the heater also for the wrong PH will attack these plastic surrounds and that is where they leak |

| What type of anti freeze are you using? Are you using the GM brand Dex-Cool? I cant say good or bad about it, but GM had several law suits over this coolant, and many (including me) refuse to use it ever again. This stuff is pretty hard on aluminum parts. again, not good or bad, only advice on gaining a little more info if you are using it. This stuff typically turned to mud after little use, and only a few heat cycles. Maybe this orange stuff is the problem, and since you are replacing most of the stuff, you may change the type of juice you are running. |

| Yeah Dex-cool is orange colored. My 96 Silverado takes Dex-cool. Personally I'm going to flush my system out completely and put in the regular old green 50/50 coolant. It won't hurt anything if you change but you have to flush it thoroughly with water. And I would change your hoses & t-stat while your at it. They claim Dex-cool lasts so much longer and doesn't need to be changed as frequently but, it really does need to be changed the same time as the green coolant. Dex-cool is more expensive as well. -Mike |

| before refilling do a pressure leak test, when you do fill it make sure its not building presure. A head gasket or similiar problem may have cause the original problem
