| Do you think the timing can be off? Can you check your timing without a timing light? |

 | i did not think a MAP sensor would fix it. a malfunctioning TPS would have a high idle and late shift points. code 12 would indicate everything is ok but you might have checked it when it was not flashing a code. have you checked the cap and rotor?? |

| now when you say it surges do you mean that the motor kinda jumps for just a sec and then shifts ?

| It is a 5spd so when you change into 3rd for example the truck surges (loses power) I am sure it is a timing issue at this point... How do you adjust the timing? |

| when its running you turn the destibuter one way or the other just a little bit at a time and on your harmonic balance pully there is a mark should be one the timing cover when the #1piston hits the it should match the mark on there you can see it real good with the timing light
