I looked at the distributor cap and it has two screws on it so you cannot turn it like I am used to. Must have some other means of adjusting the timing??

if you look at the shaft of the distributor where it goes in the intake you will see a little y shaped clamp with a bolt holding it down if you loosin that up a little bit the distributor will twist

I took the truck to the shop and they say that it needs a tune up...new plugs, wires, distributor cap and rotor. They also said that their is "NO" timing that it has a timing chain.
Is this something that I can do myself or is it a difficult task? They want $400 and I check with the parts house and the parts are $50

I have not tried the plugs and cap. I finally took it to a garage to get the diagnostics done. They said one of the wires broke as they pulled it off the plug and said basically the wires were really old. I am not sure when the truck was tuned up last because when I bought it, it had 176,000 miles on it and now has 186,000
