| 2001 2WD Silverado rear end ? I own a 2001 Silverado 2WD Ext. Cab, Short Bed with the 5.3 L. I just bought the truck a few weeks ago, and yesterday i realized I only have the right wheel driving the truck. It does not have limited slip/posi traction rear end. I was talking to a friend of mine who indicated that i should be able to change out the carrier assembly and put in a limited slip carrier assembly, which would solve the single wheel drive and allow me to have both wheels driving, so that when it snows this winter i dont have to take the bus hahaha. If anyone could offer any suggestions or advice I would greatly appreciate. I am a college student at this time and this is very important to me so i can travel back and forth to school this winter. I'm trying to figure out the least expensive way to turn the rear end into a limited slip rear end. Thanks so much in advance for any and all suggestions, Gonzo |

| Would a locker be the best and most cost effective way to go ? A buddy of mine was telling me that I need a limited slip . I cannot believe that GM would put a single drive wheel in the rear on a 2WD pickup. I just bought this truck a few weeks back and just found out that it does not have a limited slip rearend based on the VIN code . I am just trying to figure out what the most cost effective way to go would be . Thanks for your feedback |
