Occasional Brake Troubles in 2001 Chevy Silverado 1500 I'm an owner of a 2001 Chevy Silverado 1500 and have had it for a while. It has issues stopping occasionally when applying the brakes but mainly when applying them slower speeds. Again it doesn't happen all the time but occasionally, when you apply the brakes it feels like a quick boost of added resistance to the brake pedal. The only way to actually stop at that point for me is to let my foot off the pedal for a moment then apply harder. At first I wasn't expecting it and nearly crashed into the drug store. I know there was a recall on the ABS Sensors and that has been addressed (actually twice by 2 seperate dealerships) and they said its the wheel hubs that are causing the occasional delay. I've replaced the bad hubs and the issue seemed to go away for a while but its back again. Can someone help me with what I need to fix on my truck?

i would check the booster for a vacuum leak or something along them lines... do you have any mods like intake or exhuast? anything that will affect vacuum... you can test the booster with a vacuum guage.. just add some vaccum and let it sit for a little while then check to see if it lost any pressure

I just read tonight that older Pontiac cars have trouble with low vacuum that when even to open the front head light doors that one has to rev up the car due to not enough vacuum im thinking you might have a vacuum leak some where now back to the older Pontiac's so what they do to resolve the problem is install a hydro-booster that takes care of it. I think also it had to do with the torque that Pontiac engines have.
