new to the site Hey guys, I'm new to the site, so I thought I'd say hi. I've decided to turn a '93 c1500 into a street/strip rod, and this seems like the place to be. Quick question...what all is out there as far as lowering kits. I want to drop it down just a little bit to improve handling (I'm not interesting in anything close to being considered "slammed"). Also, I want to preserve the ability to tow a few thousand pounds. I've seen a few 2"/4" kits, but I'm worried dropping it 4" in the rear is too much. Any thoughts? Thanks. -Jesse

i had a 91 c1500 with 2" drop spindles in the front and 3" drops in the back. i towed alot of stuff with it with no problems. looked awesome like it belonged in the race. let me find a pic of it. should have one somewhere to show you and see what you think.

well from my knowledge about lowered trucks they arent good to tow with at all.. the 2/4 inch drop will make you bottom out pretty easy... they sell air bag helper kits that will allow you to tow anything up to 10,000 pounds and it is 1500 bucks on ridetech.com... it is a basic bolt on kit and it will help out at the track also... allowing better weight transfer to the rear when it is jacked up... i am bagging my hole truck so i can do this without he kit and still be able to tow when i want to... what are your plans for the motor and such?
