I've got a little more than those problems I'm at my whits ends right now. I have put 3 different alternators on this truck and have brunt the regulator up in every one. The guy from the parts store told me it sound's like a direct short. Has anyone had this problem in the older C10's?

nope not yet.. im sure i would have soon enough.. my truck is about ina s bad shape as your but its getting a new harness so im not tryin to mess withit right now

Well I finally got it sorted out. I had a broken regulator wire going to the alternator and also another broken one going to the ecm. It runs much better now. Now it's time to tackle the power steering and power brake system.

The seal is leaking behind the pulley, and my uncle has a c20 truck that came with the diesel engine so I got the power brakes system that works off of the power steering last Saturday so I'm going use all of that on my truck instead of the vaccum power brakes.
