No cold idle

Hello guys, Great forum you have here! I just joined and It sounds like you know your stuff. I have a 92 1500 4x4 I'm getting for $800 bucks because it wont idle when its cold. If you just barley give the excellerator pressure it runs great. when it's warm it runs great. just when you first start it up is the problem. being a throttle body I was thinking it just might be dirty or a sensor. What are your thoughts??

I agree, I would clean the Idle Air Control valve. If necessary go to the repair section of autozone.com for details. I would also see if there are any error codes stored. By the way the truck sounds a good buy. Good luck.

is the idle high when warm? check anything drawing vacuum. Pcv or egr could be cracked open and when warm compensate for the lean condition
