A girl who needs help! Heres my problem. I have an 02 chevy silverado, it has a 3" body 3" suspension and 3" torsion keys. I found a good deal on craigslist for tires and rims but the rims were not my lug pattern, 20" rockstars with 37" nitto mud grapplers. I found the adapters to convert my lug pattern but it has to be 2" in thickness. do you think this will be a problem??

| Welcome to the forum. Personally I've never liked adapters on wheels as it creates a weak point.

adapters are one thing and spacers are another... with adapters your bolting upa new wheel patern but with spacers your just pushing the rim out.. as long as the adapters are from a good quality company you really should have any problems just dont go playin in the mud to much or beating the **** out of your truck... they will fail if abused and make sure every once inawhile you pull the wheels and make sure they are still tight.. and if you start to feel a wooble pull over and check your ride out cause a tire may fall off

thanks... yea like i said she doesnt see the mud... i have a toy for that... I know there is a difference between spacers and adapters... the only adpters i could find are 2" thick and I know it will make the tire stick out I just hope they don't rub. do you think I have enough lift for this??

hey jenn, i had a jeep and i put 2.5in wheel spacers on it due to the narrow track axles. it looked great and had no problems with it. i wouldnt go too wide, 2in MAX. and i would also use a good quality spacer. alcoa makes good ones.only thing you have to do is check torque on the lugs every couple on months. mine never backed off,but they recommend it.

Yeah I was going to use locktight on the threads but I figured that the tires are agressive so it won't look bad if they stick out. I definately wouldnt go any wider than 2"
