Question 96 Silverado brake/tail lamps

The brake lights and rear signals work on my 96 Silverado until the headlamp switch is turned on and then no brake lights or tail lamps work but the rear turn signals do with a fast blinking. Reverse lamps work until the headlamp switch is on.

All fuses are good and I just changed out both tail lamp circuit boards.

Any ideas on the problem and solution??? Thanks

Do I have to remove the dash/ instrument panel to change the toggle/light switch?

mines a 93 and just a few torques screws around the instrument cluster gives you access

IIRC you do, but the dash bezel just pops off. Only thing to watch for is the emergency flasher switch. it can get caught in the bezel and snap off when removing...
