Dead Battery My 03 Silverado has been acting strange lately. First the high beam indicator light in the instrument panel remains dimly lit all the time, even when the truck is off. Today after my truck had be sitting all week, the battery was totally dead. I will pull the high beam relay tomorrow and see what happens but I am not sure what is wrong. Any ideas?

I asked a dealer about that and was told that the gauges would start acting weird but nothing about any dimly lit lights. I will check the relay for the high beams today and go from there. I guess I can use a volt meter and check for circuit draining one by one.

I have posted this a many of times a bad battery can fool one good have it checked out correct even check the level of the acid as well for a good connections. Any auto parts can check it for free and Wal-Mart has there yellow color battery that's rated great you can't beat there warranty.

I put in a new battery 2 weeks ago. I thought it was the battery because the truck is now 6 years old. Thanks

I just wanted to post the end results on my dead battery issue. After a trip to a GM tech, it comes down to my on star system drawing excessive voltage from the battery on a constant level. It is not active but it was constantly sending a signal for a medical emergency. The only reason no one received the signal is due to my on star system operates on analog and not digital. My truck never received the digital upgrade but that didn't stop the system from sending a signal constantly. It was a constant drain on the battery. I just thought it might be useful to others.
