97 1500 Silverado with weird Brake Light Problem

I have a 97 1500 Silverado here with a weird brake light problem. The brake light works when the brake pedal is lightly pressed down, but when you press down harder the brake light shuts off. There are no blown fuses, have checked multiple times. The brake switch has been replaced and then both the new one and the old one were checked and good based on a multimeter. This is a frustrating one. We were thinking maybe relay switches, but swapped a couple of those out and still the same thing. Disasembled the tail lights and nothing going bad back there. When I press down lightly on the brake, I can hear the switch turn on and then when I continue to press down, I can hear the switch turn off. What's the deal? Please help!!!

Check your grounds to the switch and to the circut board.
also they sell new tail light cercut board at auto store in the self help area.
try there.the plug on the wiring harness that the circut board connects to, the contact points are gettin worn out so every once in a while you have to pull the circut board and use a small screw driver and bend the contacts back in to where they are making a good connection with the circut board. or replace wiring harness.hope this helps.

Does the switch call for an adjustment procedure? some have to bet a certain way and they adjust themselves to the proper position. have you jumped the sitch to make sure the rest of the system is ok?
