| oil cooler my oil cooler lines are looking rough i want to eliminate them... what would be my best route to take on this Last edited by bigz; 11-12-2008 at 03:31 PM. |

| check out perma-cool or flexalite or somebody like that they probly have kits you could install....

| suppose you could but your oil won`t get cooled.... and we all know thats not so good... but my 80 was like that before oil coolers, but it also ran a low thermostat too, oh and i did have to replace the engine, a few times....(:

| Just replace the lines, that's what I'd do. Should I put an oil cooler on my 76 if i"m drivin it everyday?

| i have owned very few trucks with oil coolers. even ones that i have towed with and had little to no problems with the oil. i had problems with the remote mount oil cooler on a pete once and just stuck a brass fitting between the two lines and stuck them in the frame rail. never had a problem since. oil stays cool even hauling 92K pounds. the star car doesnt even have one and sits in the sticks moving 100K 3 and 4 times a day. |

| i feel comfortable removing it i just don't know exactly what i need... i mean will a regular pipe thread plug work? |

| take the hoses off and match the thread pattern up. buy a matching plug for it. if you are asking if its npt, i have no idea. |
