Leaf Spring Question Ok this question is probably stupid, but I'm not quite sure. I own a 1984 K10 long box, and am looking at buying a used truck with a lot of good parts to put on my truck. One is a 6 in. suspension lift and 3 in. body lift. It's also got 3/4 ton axles w/ 4.11 gears that will go under my truck as well. This truck is a short box though. I was wondering if the leaf springs off of the short box truck will fit my long box? Either way I'll probably get the truck, but I just wanted to see if the springs will work (the rears are blocks and add-a-leaf's I believe). Also, what size tire could I run with a 9 in. lift like this? 36's? Maybe 38's?

the leafs are the same so you shouldnt run into any problems there... you should be able to fit 38 with a 9 inch lift... the only thing yo wont be able to use is the driveshaft so you may need to have one made up for the lift... but if the rear leafs dont work you can take off the blocks and add a leaf kit and they will work on your truck as well... i looked up the lift kits for the short box and long bed and they are the same part numbers so you shouldnt run into any problems though...

I've got 36.5s on my 78 k10 with only add-a-leaves in the front, so I'm thinking you could probably run 40s, maybe 42s if you're willing to trim your fenders. Just a thought.

Well now I may just "fix up" the truck and keep both. I hardly ever drive out of town anyway and with two jobs I can afford it, so I'll probably sell the car. I just wonder how long these low gas prices will last. Does anyone know where I can get CHEAP rear leaf springs for a 6" lift? This truck has a 4" block and some add-a-leafs, and I'd really perfer the springs.

I thought it was 52" and 56". I might just be fixing up the truck and leaving the lift on it. But where could I get a cheap 6" lift rear spring?
