thats about right for compression, sounds like the valve seals are dried out, i'd try that first

Thanks! I was hoping it was the seals, the oil is pretty clean and doesnt seem to be using much if any.

seals are easy to replace in that block. just dont do like my BIL did and drop one after he took the lock off the top.

Hey what are the specs on this engine? I found something like 210hp, is this right? what is the torque? It has a HyperTech chip, but i was told it was for gas mileage.

its true, but for safety sake, i would have the piston up as far as it could go. i think i bought my vavle spring removal tool, sounds important huh, for 20 bucks somewhere. it aint nothing special but has worked great for me.

I agree i would hate to lose a valve! SOmeone told me the factory valve seals arent much to begin with, and usually give out and have to be replaced.. i have a 1993 W/T with a 4.3 it smokes like crazy when u start it up.. the clears right up.. i have had it for 3 years and it doesnt seem to get worse..

yeah if it clears up right away its the valve seals.. whats happening is a little oil is getting down the cylinders after you turn it off.. not a big deal unless you are worried about smokin outh the naighbors and replacing your cat every 50000 miles
