think i'd need a programmer to raise my idle would'nt i? thats a pretty big jump aint it? when its warm i think it idles between 800-900 i'd have to look.

There is a kit on the market designed to do just that. It's originally designed for trucks with onboard welders, but it allows you to set the idle speed you want and it will maintain that speed until you tell it otherwise. I don't remember what it is called or who sells it, but there is one out there.

nope We used to use a idle selinoid on a switch like gm used years ago. You could also use a truck drivers pedal stick and put it in there manually.
You only want to raise the idle when everything is on and will sit for a while, like at an accident
the newer lights don't draw the power, like the old stuff

ok, i'll look into those, im sure i can find something. hopefully i'll be able to get a new LED light bar those dont draw hardly anything. thanks again every one.

the chevrolet top kicks came with a high idle switch in them... and I believe they came with a 1200 set idle limit to run onboard welders(as mentioned earlier) and the hydrolic cranes and such
