Oh about the clutch switch...I held the key in the start position and pumped the clutch in and out on the switch and somewhere in the cab a dull click was heard...working? I thought it might be...again I'm an idiot...thanks again Slammer! Walt

Find the switch for your clutch and push it in and hold, it's like a black rectangle mounted higher up then expected, push it in and hold it, then try to start it

OK I hate to disagree( ya right!). but the above solutions seem to tend towards fords.........gm uses a solenoid on the starter, it engages the starter. So either the starter or soleniod is bad. This is assuming you have properly checked the pos and ground cables at the battery and starter. pull the starter and have it checked

Hate crunchy beer!!! Close garage door...

Okay, so now I go get it checked out at Carquest...what are they gonna say? Bad solonoid? Bad brushes? What can I expect? Thanks!

Really, thanks for all the help!

I'm back...

Thanks again to everyone that's helped!

Okay, had the starter checked and it works fine...solenoid works fine...

It was above 10deg today so I went back under the truck and put the starter back in, hooked everything up and put the neg bat cable back on and thought, what the heck, giv'er a try...IT STARTED! Nice!

And just when you think everything is right with the world, I let it run for a bit and then shut her down...went to try it again, and nada...Rats!!!

So, now I know it's not the fusible link...which is what I was going to jump a wire around after I got the starter back in...

Not starter or solenoid or fusible link or ground or 5/16 wire loose at the starter...it's back to doing the same exact thing as when it first wouldn't start.

I'm out of ideas...help! Thanks, Walt
