| I take my starters to a rebuild shop, to be checked. They know how to check for dead spots in the starter. carquest does a garage floor check on starters( set on floor and hook cables see if it spins). I think you may have a dead spot in your starter. Can you see the end of it thru your inspection plate? if so try turning it a bit and see if it kicks in

| if you feel gutsy, you can tear the starter down your self and ohm out the armature. i can go in to detail later if you think you can tackle it yourself.
