| Yes I agree the wee-0-5 as it's commonly called is just not gonna give you what the tired 350 gave you even... But it will keep the tires turning(barely)... Good luck from my knowledge you should be ok and if anything fab up some mounts for it!! |

| I agree, the 305 is way under powered for a truck, my 95 came stock with a 305 and I have to downshift when it come to hills. I need gears or smaller tires. My stock tires are supposed to be 245-70-16 and I'm running 265-75 right now and I could tell the difference in power when I switched. But I like 19 mpg on the hwy. |

| Use the same setup that your 350 had. The 305 and the 350 are almost the same engine. the 350 get's it's extra grunt from the larger bore and the slightly larger camshaft if' you wanted to make that 305 perform a little better you could always pu in a little larger cam. That 305 should have a roller cam setup, I know because I used to have a 92' 350 that came from a Caprice police car and I was very happy with it. My uncle is currently running that same model 305 you have in his tow truck and he's very happy with it after swapping the camshaft out for a larger grind and swapping it to carb because his truck is an 82' model. I've had several of both size engines and they're both very good reliable engines, and that wee-0-5 as some people call it can be a very strong little engine if you want to do a little work.

| The 305 is a very good engine. There really isn't as much difference as some would have you believe. It should be fine. |

| yea the easiest way to get more power from a 305 is to have 350 valves installed in the heads and clearance the valves so you have a 3/16" gap all the way around them and install you a little bigger lift cam in it and it makes for a nice strong running little 305. I've got a set of those 305 heads moded like that on my 350 in Frankinstein and they build more than enough power and torque to make my tbi injected truck run very strong.
