Please Help With Tire/Rim Question... I've got a 2000 Chevy K2500 all stock. I would like to put some larger tires, but want to see if I can use my stock rims. (I have 245 75/16). Can the stock ones be used say for a 285 75/16R??? What are the dimensions of my stock wheel WIDTH... is it 6.5?... 7.0/7.5? Any help is much appreciated!! Jon

I beleive its 6.5" and 285s are no prob fitting... although it will be a tight fit unless you do some trimming or lifting. I used to run 315s on stock 3/4 ton gm aluminum wheels for years, and it was ona off road beater truck, never had a problem....

Yup true that!!! Those tires will fit right on... May rub alittle in the turns but will fit those rims like a glove!! It's when you get into the 31" to 33-10.50's is when you need to think about new rims!!

the 285 is the width of the tire and the 75 would be the hight of the tire.. so really all your doing is putting a wider tire on your rims...
