| Melting fuse Hi guys, I'am new to this fourm,Just have a problem with my 89 chevy 4x4,The tail light fuse gets hot when the tail lights are on then melts the fuse but does not blow it,any ideas. |

| You have a short somewhere and it's causing over current in voltage but the amperage is not overloading which it causing it not to blow... I'd bet that somewhere under your body your pinching a wire... I had the same problem with a fuel pump wire on my S-10 pickup... Trace your wires from the taillight to the fuse box... |

| You need to fix that, it's gonna melt the box eventually. Like Fasel said, there is a short in the circuit. You can buy a short finder fairly cheap on the internet.

| I look out my window thinkin the truck may be on fire,i have looked at wires on frame didn't see anything,i was stumped if it is a short it should blow the fuse wouldn,t it ? |

| Welcome to the forum and howdy from TEXAS. Electrical shorts can be very tricky you better fix it right before it burns your truck down. For a while there I pictured wearing electrical shorts on the body don't wet yourself or you will get the best buzz you ever had. |
