Front differential grinding 2001 s10

I have a 2001 chevy s-10 which is making a grinding noise in the passenger front differential intermittantly. Sounds like two gears trying to mesh out of sync.I have replaced a ton of front end parts which include....uper and lower ball joints, all cv joints brakes, calipers wheel bearings and the actuators switch located on passenger side of front differential. It still makes the noise occasionaly and after you drive it a while on the interstate. When you stop or enguage four wheel drive the noise goes away.ANY SUGGESTIONS ALSO WHERE PART IS LOCATED THAT NEEDS TO BE CHANGED.

sounds like for some reason the actuator is not letting the shaft in the differential fully release or something is wore in that area. try disconnecting the wire to the actuator and see if it goes away. If not I think a rebuild of the diff is in your future
