Maintenance ? Trans. Lube Guard?? Well I'm going to change the transmission fluid and filter. Does anyone add any enhancers like "Lube Guard" when they do their tranny fluid? When I was in school for auto mechanics the instructor always had us put that in with a trans. service. Now I'm just wondering if it actually worth it or is it just selling the customer more parts? I think they make specific Lube Guard for different manufacturers as well. So, possibly it is something decent and not a snake oil. I'm also changing the oil & filter. And I'm flushing the coolant system so I can change out my leaky block heater. (Need to pretty much take the oil filter off to get access to the block heater with tools.) And I'm changing the T-stat. I changed the spark plugs & wires this fall. Put on a K&N filter I had lying around that was for a Jeep and it fit perfect! Just had to use a worm drive clamp to secure it. Changed the PCV valve. And I added nerf bars and a push bar on the front but that's not maintenance stuff. What kind of spark plugs do you guys like and the gap? I went from Delco's to Autolite Platinums and lost some mpg. Thinking about just putting in new plugs to see if the mpgs will be better. -Mike

For what it`s worth anytime I do a trans fluid and filter change I always add a bottle of Lucas As for plugs I feel that OEM is always hard to beat.

Do you guys use regular Delcos or use their platinum series? I got them at autozone. Didn't know they had them at Wal-mart. I don't like walmart either. I usually got NGK plugs for the Hondas I owned before my truck. Always got the NGK Power V. Well I'll probably run to the store and get at least the oem delcos. -Mike

if you are still running your stock ignition, dont waste your money on platinum. these perform better with a hotter system. you will not notice a differance in those and a regular set of plugs. OEM is going to be your best bet. as for the tranny fluid, i have never used. i have used mories (sp??) and lucas in the diffs but that is about it. i also use the oil stabilizer in anything that uses something other than synthetic.
