Blower Motor Always ON!

The blower motor on my 76 Silverado is always on, no matter what position the switch is on. I know the switch might be bad but what else would cause this? It really doesn't bother me now, but when I start driving the truck more often I'm sure it will.

The switch that controls the fan is a rheostat (variable resitor) the only reason it would stay on is a short to power. Either the rheostat (switch) itself is bad, or a power source (stray wire??) is bypassing the switch.

if you are talking always on low speed that is normal for that era. some of them were a simple jumper wire on the switch between low and off, you can cut it and get normal action on the switch

I agree with leo that's how they were made back then I heard it's like that to remove any exhaust gases that might be in the truck cab.
