1985 Chevy Blazer

I have had one truck a 1985 Chevy Blazer.
About 8 years ago the orginal engine locked up and also the transmission.
I did purchase a new engine but never got anything else done. So for 8yrs. it has been sitting in storage. Now for the million dollar question.
Is there anything that can be done to restore this truck and if so how, what and when?

Welcome to the forum and howdy from TEXAS. Did you ever put any miles on the engine? Why don't you try www.craigslist.org maybe you can find the Transmission there or maybe a whole truck where you can steal parts off it to get yours on the road.

The engine was new. No miles. Now being in storage I wonder if its ruined.

before you try to turn it over by hand take the spark plugs out and shoot some tranny fluid in there and let it sit for about a 1/2 hour to a hour then turn it over by hand to make sure you do not damage the rings and while you are turning it over listen to the motor and feel for any binding and that will tell you if you need to replace anything.

03chevy I remember a long time ago some guy added the wrong oil to his crank case it was trans fluid and it messed up the engine I guess just a bit wouldn't hurt the engine. But yes I agree don't try turning the engine dry.

Use Marvel Mystery Oil. It will lube good without damage if any gets in crankcase, or just squirt WD-40 in each hole.
