Body parts interchange- what will fit an '83

I have an '83 K-20, I have heard that post '87 doors will fit(wiring and stuff, is different, if you have any). I am wondering if post '87 doors do fit and what other body parts may. if the doors fit, how much different are the beds? I figure it will be easier to find a clean post 87 bed than a pre 87 bed. I tried searching the forum but didn't find any answers.

i beleive 81 to 87s are very similar in body design and beleive thoase years are interchangable, wouldn`t be surprised if an 73 to 87 bed would bolt on, prior to 81 not sure if the boxes were very slightly cosmeticaly differrent

search www.car-part.com for the parts you want to interchange. If you put your year in it will show which years will fit.

I know most 78-87 parts will fit, I heard that 88 and newer doors will fit, wiring and such is different, wondering if 88 and newer beds will fit.

88 and newer are completely different animals (unless you go with 88-91 suburbans)

73-87 everything from the doors back will interchange, 81-87 the front fenders etc.. are interchangeable.

Will it fit? I doubt it your trying to put two different trucks together. Can you make it fit? SURE.
