| I have a 1989 Chevy 3/4 Ton 1500 with 4 wheel drive and a 6" lift and 33" tires. Recently the rear U-Joint went out and i successfully replaced that without much issue, i figured while I was doing that work I would replace the slightly damaged front U-joint before it caused me trouble. I removed the drive shaft all the way from the transmission to the rear diff. I have tried to pound out the U-joint but have been unable to do so. I have exausted all the common ways to remove the part and now am out of ideas. ![]() |

| Probably still has factory plastic retainers holding the caps. Heat the caps with a torch and use a viseto press them out after you heat them. |
