If your going through the trouble of replacing the cam, why not just go for brok and replace the heads? Its already apart.... And since the heads wouldnt be complete without the intake its a great time to replace it all...... Ah screw the intake, go for a magnuson! Go big or go home!

if i was going to replace everything on it, then i wouldn't have bought a complete engine. while it would be nice to do all that, i mainly bought this engine for reliability, fuel efficiency and ease of modification compared to the carbed 305.

Mud what truck is this engine going on? I'm confused because didn't you buy another truck but older than your maroon truck let me know I can't wait for you to get this engine put in the truck I wish I was there to help you so that we could go faster also look where the oil pump is on these engines way different to what we were used too. Mud also don't forget your going to need a stall converter and a transmission cooler for sure or you will burn it up many of people have learned the hard way im saying that because your wanting to install a over than stock cam.
Here's my brothers set ups the latest is the 408 engine.
05 RCSB 5.3 old set-up
12.39 @ 106.75 1.64 60' N/A
11.26 @ 121.72 1.63 60' 150shot

Recent set-up
408ci HCI
11.41 @ 116.5 1.57 60' Xessive Tune

why does he need a stall converter?? a normal 1600 should do him fine. especially if he plans on using this as a daily driver or to tow a truck if so decides to. after all, it is a long way to TX.
