to turbo or not to turbo that is the ?

I am toying with the idea of installing a factory optional turbo on my truck. I'm not concerned with the wrenching but the ? is what affects will this have on my injector pump. do I just dial it in or does it need to go bye bye. The truck is a J block naturally asparated. I can pull any grade with a trailer every one passes me at the start and I usually catch them at the top. will the exhaust temps cause me to lose out on climbs. I see alot of turbo diesels limping up the top half of a grade(I limp up the bottom half)
Any thoughts

I think you will need to upgrade some parts, like head gaskets. Ask the people where you intend to buy the turbo from about recommended upgrades
I'm sure over the next few days you will also see a few more comments from the forum

GO FOR IT! A few companies make complete kits for these kind of upgrades. As far as I know, the injection pump is left pretty much alone but a new lift pump is included in the kit. Check out companies like banks for all the details.

Should be a simple install. most "kits" should compensate for the older motor, and not build too much boost. with a good intercooler, EGT's should not even be an issue...

just picked up the turbo today. odd looking little thing, it's a garrett ar60 system design is pretty neat and clean, turbo actually sits right next to the valve cover supposed to be very responsive on the bottom end.
