89 chevy k1500/runs like ****

I need some help.Ive been through alot of past threads and found same problems but mines a little different a couple things are throwin me off.The truck in the spring summer would run horrible til it warmed up a little.I could never get it to open all the way up when putting the gas pedal to the floor but it got me to work and back.As it got colder in fall/winter it got worse and went opposite on me....it would run 100% like it hasnt ever before for a mile or 2 and then got warm and it would sputter and no more power.Pretty much during accceleration until i got to 40-45mph and it would somewhat clean up.Feels like its always been missing or clogged fuel filter.Ive changed cap, rotor, plug, wires, fuel filter, rebuilt tbi, throddle pos. sensor,o2 censor, thermostat, and coolant temp. sensor.NOW,if i unplug the cts thats brand new the truck will idle a little higher and the miss or whatever is making it sputter is gone.i can drive with no problems.i plug it back in and it slows the idle down and runs like **** again.Another odd things is if i take off a plug wire off any of them it doesnt change the idle. What the **** is goin on!!!Too finish this long story ,checked the codes and its telling me its the cts.Any ideas????

Maybe you have a bad one see if you can try one from another truck.

if it was bad though it shouldnt matter if its plugged in or not.Its definetly changing the idle when you plug and unplug.or do i have that wrong?

sound like it's starving for fuel. how is the pressure?, was the filter clean when you changed it? disconnecting the cts is putting it in open loop or default

the filter was pretty dirty.i havent checked the pressure cuz i figured it ran right when i disconnected cts.if the pump was bad shouldnt it have failed by now?completely. This problem has been there for awhile and it slowly got worse.almost as if it was getting worse as it was getting colder out.ill have to give it a try.definetly wont hurt and help narrow it down.

you may want to consider another filter and see if it's still collecting a lot of gunk, colder needs more fuel!
